With a weak and drowsy head<\/p>\n
limbs still sleepy, almost dead,<\/p>\n
I woke up in a silent winter day<\/p>\n
and at once decided inside to stay.<\/p>\n
Bored I mourned my blemish soul,<\/p>\n
so eager to fly like a helpless fowl…<\/p>\n
The ache of burning memory flashes<\/p>\n
turned my emotions into ember ashes.<\/p>\n
In sour madness, my mind was gone,<\/p>\n
therefore senses, at that time, I had none.<\/p>\n
So bursting in tears I fell on the floor.<\/p>\n
Chased by my fears, I reached for the door.<\/p>\n
But even the door was so far, far away<\/p>\n
and while reaching my memory went astray\u2026<\/p>\n
I forgot why I reached for that stupid door<\/p>\n
and, again, bursting in tears I fell on the floor.<\/p>\n
I realized something that was there all along.<\/p>\n
It started repeating in my head like a tedious song.<\/p>\n
That annoying voice: a dreadful, stubborn sound<\/p>\n
that pinned all of my emotions to the ground,<\/p>\n
wouldn’t just let me be in peace,<\/p>\n
unless my body rested helplessly – dead that is.<\/p>\n
The voice whispered repeatedly \u201cnever\u201d in my ear.<\/p>\n
\u201cNever\u201d was the word that combined all of my fears.<\/p>\n
I shouted at the effigy I saw in the crooked mirror:<\/p>\n
\u201cSpare me, I cannot stand this! Bring my ending nearer!\u201d<\/p>\n
Breaking the silence again, the voice hissed \u201cNEVER\u201d in my ear.<\/p>\n
It drove me so mad that I couldn\u2019t see clear!<\/p>\n
I grabbed my reflection and threw it out the window!<\/p>\n
But suddenly I was up in the air trying to winnow!<\/p>\n
I fell on the ground and I couldn\u2019t lift my body anymore.<\/p>\n
My eyes gazed at a blade of grass as my sight began to soar.<\/p>\n
Freeing from that fear, my reflection vanished into the void,<\/p>\n
